Violin Labeled Nicolaus Amati Fecit ca. 1658 (FS306)
Antique Violin labeled Nicolaus Amati ca 1658.
This violin is most likely made in Germany, and modeled after an instrument made by Nicolaus Amati in 1658.
Even though this is not an authentic instrument, and its actual age cannot be determined, the violin is still at least 100 years old in our estimation. The violin has been fully restored and set up in our shop by our head luthier, Andrés M. Bilva. The violin has a substantial amount of natural antiquing, and features an ornate tailpiece
The sound of this violin is very mellow, sweet, and well balanced.
- Varnish: Deep brown with orange hues
- Back: Two piece maple back
- Fittings: Ebony, decorative tailpiece
- Strings: Thomastik Dominant Strings
Sale is for Instrument only.
